I just wanted to chime in and say thank you all for staying civil. See, it is possible to debate and remain civil towards each other.

Carry on.

In regular society, the most resources are directed towards the neediest people. Shelters, welfare, mental health services, services for the physically and mentally disabled. Why should it be any different for dogs???

Please refrain from a chorus of... "Dogs aren't people, so don't compare them."

Either way, that dog deserves just as many resources, time and effort as any other dog that goes near that shelter.... if not more. Some people would love a "project dog" and the ability to rescue and put effort into giving this animal the best life possible.

There's more to dogs than $4000.00 CKC/AKC registered bullies where you know 900 pages of their pedigree.

Oh, and I only do rescue dogs, so you're preaching to the choir with that line!

I don't think its fair to assume that just because there are people who don't support giving money for severely neurologically disabled dogs that they only care about pedigreed expensive dogs. Both my dogs are rescued - one of which I have spent over $10,000 on for various medical issues - but I agree with the people that say there is a better way to spend our funds in some cases - on the dogs that have a long healthy future ahead of them. I amhappy to hear that things worked out well for this dog - I just don't think its fair for you Kovalchuk to make a statement like that assuming everyone feels that way.

There is nothing said that everyone should step up and put out money for disabled dogs that need homes. There is nothing stating that everyone must help when it comes to a disabled dog, however, there is also NO reason that everyone should insist the dog is no good and be put down right from the beginning.

Not everybody needs a dog that costs a couple thousand to say it is a good pitbull-any dog can be a good dog. It only takes one loving soul to recognize that.

This dog, was against odds on this forum-basically sentenced to death-and has actually become more valuable then most dogs here! Good for her, and I am glad I helped in her life!

Thanks again guys-Shakey Rocks!!!

Hi nice to see you posting and still helping the unwanted, there is always some one out there with a soft spot . I found so many people wanting to help Charlie although he had his problems. As soon as I had arrange to have him PTS, all these organisation appeared.
