I saw a miniature "Runtweiler" at the Pet EXpo a few weeks ago. I talked to the owner and she said her dog was bred from full grown Rotties. Her mini was one in a million. It was the cutest thing. It looked nothing like the picture from the provided link, it looked like a little Rot.

Cant a NORMAL standard dog, even with the best of ribbons, produce a miniature......I guess equal to in humans, a midget of sorts???
I think anythings possible. I know people are breeding wrong, whatever, whatever, but that pic looks like a genuine rotty, just a smaller size, and I cant imagine mixing a rotty with anything, and still getting that distinct rotty look-to that much of a "T", ya know???

Probably some Daschsund in there. The back sure is long and the legs very short which I know are both domiant traits. How pathetic!

And yes, "dwarfism" can occur in all breeds of dogs & I'll be happy to give you a link explaining it. But besides it being extremely rare, the dogs wouldn't come out looking like another breed, just a smaller version. |
