Default Miniature English Bulldogs

have you guys ever encountered the breed?

what makes them considered miniature?

i think my puppy is a mini..... i read in a book that a puppy's height is reached my 4-5 months of age.... she's not very tall, but her head is rather small (i think) for a bulldog.

now, she's only 6 months right now...

a puppy's height is not reached at 4-5 months, most dogs grow until 1 year and some grow til 2 years or even 3 years sometimes(giant breeds like mastiffs and great danes, etc)

A "miniature EB" is not a real breed, but only one fabricated by back yard breeders in order to ask more for their dogs so they can revel in the profits gained. Usually they will breed the smallest dogs to the smallest dogs w/absoluetey no regards for the breed's standards or the overal health (genetics) of the dog. The EB already has an average lifespan of 8 yrs. I would assume that a mine would be life savings drainer in health problems & defects & will die at the ripe old age of 5. In fact, the EB of today is already a sad, pitiful example of the true EB of yesteryears so I can't imagine someone wanted to ruin it even more for money & "cutsie" looks.

Don't by into the hype of "rare" or "new" breeds like that. It's a scam by people to fatten their wallets.

Yes I have heard of them before. I posted about them awhile ago too. Cute little things but the breed is already man made enough and doesn't need to be fulled with any longer. EBs tend to have enough health problems as it is. I'm not saying your little guy will, he could be healthy his whole life and not have one problem but it is common for EBs to have a lot of health concerns and by miniturizing them, that's just going to cause more problems.

yeah, when i took her to the vet for her first check-up after i got her, she said that the bulldogs are a vet's dream come true for the amount of money they bring concerning their health... i was like

but my vet isn't that type of vet thank god! she also said my bulldog seems to be in good shape regarding her wrinkles, tail, and breathing. her wrinkles tend not to be overwhelming, i haven't even had to put vasoline on them, they're practically not there.

thanks everyone, i'll post pics of her soon. when my boss isn't hounding me about being on the board!!!

Miakoda, what about the rare blue pits? Don't you think breeders deserve to get more cash for them?
(I'm just playing of course )

I had no idea about the health problems that EBs are at risk for until I really started looking into getting one a few years back. The thing that really makes me mad is that they are health issues that us humans created intentionally. I really don't get it.
