A friend of mine recently purchased a puppy and was told it was a Bordello Bullmastiff. At first, she was told it was EB/ Bullmastiff cross; that I can believe. God bless her, she is doing everything right when it comes to the care of this dog and we have been trying to give her information about caring about her bully breed. She does have a tendency to exaggerate on many things. I have searched and searched for this breed and cannot find any information about it. If the dog is an EB/mastiff mix, does it have a name? Or is it just a cross. I want to give her as much helpful information as I can to help her without hurting her feelings. So I though I would ask the forum in hopes to get some information to help her. Thanks!

Sure she doesn't mean a Dogue de Bordeaux? That's a French Mastiff.

I think it has been determined that it is Dogge De Bordeaux cross with EB...I have referred much of the information on the forum to her and have encouraged her to join. She is bound to a wheelchair as well to her home and is just nuts about this pup. She is doing everything right as far as diet and exercise and is currently in the midst of obedience training.
Here is a pic of the pup...Her name is Starr

To me that pup looks like it could be a cross between a DDB and a Bullmastiff.
If so it would not be a breed, but it most likely would be a very nice Bandog...It also looks like it could be a DDB pup that is a regular tan/apricot color, rather than the "mahogany" color, that seems most popular... |

Wouldn't be surprised if its an EB/DDB mix. That would be the name for it too. Crossing 2 different breeds doesn't mean the pups belong to any sort of "breed" other than a mix of the two. Calling it a Bordello Bullmastiff just makes people more likely to buy the pup. Unfortunate, but when the public in general is uninformed about dogs it makes it easy for people to do stuff like this.
I've seen pictures of EB x Bullmastiff crosses too, and you'd be surprised how little the dogs come out looking like an English Bulldog (in some cases, not always of course). More like a small Bullmastiff with a blockier head. |

After initially researching that term months ago, I discovered that there was no such thing. I think the guy I got my pup from was confused and meant to say Dogue De Bordeaux. However I did research the Dogue De Bordeaux, although the dogs seem to be exotic, rare and expensive, my dog was born and bred in Idaho which hardly qualifies as a French Mastiff. My pup does share a number of the attributes, I have come to the conclusion that she is English Bulldog and Mastiff. Which none of this means anything significant to me except to keep in check with her health. I have no desire to breed her, I got her to be a therapy dog. Her temperament is unmatched as far as Bully Breeds go, purebred or otherwise. I research as much as possible and ask questions to those I trust for guidance on the best care I can give my girl. She is extremely healthy and fit, a great guardian of our home and a gentle giant with small children, and an absolute gift to my family.[/url]
