I'm with Cinderpants and Sis on this too.
I absolutely 100% care what people think of my dog. Just to move into the place we currently live, we had to jump through hoops with Haus. He has never bitten anyone, is currently up to date on all shots, neutered, etc. The insurance company for the club would not cover him due to breed, and the insurance company we had wouldn't cover him either. So, we had to switch insurance companies and we had to take out a $1 million personal liability insurance policy on him, with an additional Hold Harmless Clause, so that if he were to bite anyone the club wouldn't be sued. Haus is never outside unsupervised, and is kenneled when we have visitors that he doesn't know. 90% of the people that come up to the house LOVE him, but you have that 10% that are just ignorant, see his breed, and immediately they are experts on pitbulls because they watch the news. Anyway, I would go with studs instead of spikes. We had a spiked collar for Haus when he was a pup, and after getting stabbed a couple times from it, I decided no more spikes.

I have a really nice black leather spiked collar that Mags got as a gift that I don't use because everyone thinks she is a boy with a black collar on - I will measure it and if it is the right size you can have it for free.
While I agree that spiked collars can give the wrong impression and "play into" the breed stereotype I have also had the opposite reaction - meaning - I have a pink spiked leather collar that Mags wears sometimes and everyone LAUGHS at it because she is so sweet and docile - they think its funny because she is definately NOT tough. To each his own. I will check the size for you and let you know.

My son made his dog a spiked collar, got the spikes from Zumis (sp) in the mall found a heavy duty leather belt with good harware and sized it, attached sikes, it looks good.

The collar is 19inches - I remember now that it was originally 20 inches but it was a little too big for Mags so she got the end of it in her mouth and chewed an inch off of it LOL! Its in great condition aside from the slightly chewed end - if 19 inches would work for him I will send it to you.
