Default Spiked/Studded Collars

I'm looking to get Mater a spiked/studded collar but I don't want to spend a fortune. I really like this one: http://www.petstore.com/ps_ViewItem....=CI98151&tab=0 I've been looking around at a few different places but I have really seen any that I like or that I could afford. Does anyone know where I can get a good spiked/studded collar for under $40?

IMHO stay away from spikes, period. Not only are they tacky in general, but they will give the general public the WRONG impression of your dog. OH! And check your local laws. Though it is legal to sell spiked collars it is not always legal to own them in certain lengths in different states (something I learned from working at a night club).

If you want a very nice custom collar go check out collarmania.com. They are very fairly priced (though may not be under $40 depending on what you want) and have a lot of different stud options.

I looked at that website and I didn't like the studs that she had. As far as the spiked collars, I think that they are very fashionable and I honestly could care less of what people think about my dog.

I agree with Sis...

Honest question, not trying to be mean and/or stir the pot...have you owned a breed like this before? I know I haven't...and my opinion was the same when I first got him...4 years later I DO care what people think about my dog. The mean/harsh words that have been put towards him and me SUCK.

Oh, and you can also custom make your collar through that site...I made Atticus a VERY nice collar (well, she made it, I designed it)....black leather with red stitching, nice red and silver studs.

This is my first bully but Brian had Shar Pei's when he was younger. We have not had any issues with anyone saying anything derogatory towards Mater or us. My mother who does not like animals in general especially the ones that the media bashes on a regular basis absolutely adores Mater.

Oh, I know that you can make custom collars through that site. I just didn't see any stud options that I liked. But I might make him one with his name on it.

Dylan has a spiked leather collar. He doesn't wear it very often at all, partially cause it scratches me when he comes up for luvins.
I honestly used to like the way the collar looked, but I think I outgrew it. Now it sits in my garage...I think.
We did get more negative comments and glares and such when Dylan would wear his spiked collar but that never bothered me because I feel that my dog's behavior speaks for itself, walks next to me, doesn't pull, no barking, etc etc etc.
Having said that, I won't ever buy another spiked collar again. They are a novelty, nothing more. I'd rather get something practical for my money, like a higher quality dog food or a bunch of bully sticks or whatnot.

Oh, and to the OP....just wait, I can pretty much guarantee that you will get negative comments about your dog's breed.

What does OP mean?

If you don't want your spiked collar anymore I might be interested in buying if it's still in good shape...

OP is original poster.
It's in good shape...wherever it is. I would have to find it.
What size collar does Mater wear?

I think about an 18" or 20".
