Default This Is Totally Weird

Ok, I know what I'm about to say sounds probably crazy as all get out, but I'm gone go ahead and ask this anyway.

My uncle and his family came to visit us last weekend. For some odd reason, Xena kept barking at him. Xena NEVER barks at people. I mean she may play bark when she's playing with others, and she'll bark at strangers coming to the door or staring us down in the car, but she's never full on barked at company before. We couldn't figure out why she didn't take to my uncle at all. She had no problem with the wife and kids, just him. We wrote it down that my uncle's just loud or something.

Well today, my uncle got admitted to the hospital. They found fluid on his lungs which means he has pneumonia. He of course had this when he visited us. Do you think Xena may have sensed that something was wrong with him?

I know, I know, it may sound crazy as hell, but can dogs sense stuff like that?

Sure it's possible. In fact they are training dogs now that can detect things like cancer, there has been a lot of research and a lot written on this subject.

Sure dog's can sense stuff like that. A lot of people have service dogs that can sense when the are about to have a seizure and things like that.

True, true. We all KNOW she is crazy.

However, it is interesting. I'd love to see , after he is better and comes back, if Xena barks at him. Hmmmm.....

Don't know what it is, perhaps they emit some sort of hormone/pheromone...who knows.

I think it goes a lot deeper than your tracking dogs, or those that are trained to sniff out drugs.

yeah, after he is all better, bring him back over and see if X will bark. If she doesnt that is really cool.

kinda like the death cat on "House" that snuggled up with dying people but it was really cause they were warm from fever
