Help me pick a company name!

Aloha all, I am in the process of putting together a store in Hawaii catering to large breed canines. I intend to create a clothing line, and market weight pull harness, collars, etc....for large breeds. I have come up with a couple of names, but would love to hear what you all might have to say about a name.

If I end up using the name you suggest or something even closely resembling it, I will send you your choice of our new apparel line coming out when we open the store. Unfortunately I don't have pics of them now as they are still in the graphic design process, but I guarantee you they will make you smile.

I've contemplated Large Breed Co, and Big Dogs Inc as my semi-final company names......Help me come up with something better!

Thanks D&B. I've had the bug to do another retail business. In the process, I can provide some jobs and stimulate the bog dog scene out here in Hawaii; since it seems to be somewhat lacking. I hope to be able to do some big promotions for Schutzund, weight pull, and big dog shows......I'll keep my fingers crossed that the initial market interest holds and that we can deliver what people are looking for.

I do like Boss Dogs

If I were you I'd try something Hawaiian though, and well since I don't know many Hawaiian words I'm at a loss....good luck w/ your venture though

You should do a trademark name search or a NUANS search. If you register, it will let you register any name as long as there aren't any in your area with that name. If you someday want to franchise or incorporate (which is what I presume you want to do), you should always do a search. You may still be able to use the name you choose if somebody else has it a long a your business is different from theirs, but you may need to add something to it to make yourself stand apart. It may be different there, but I think it's the best way to protect your name.

Jinxxy - Yeah I know. It was the first name I looked into. Big Dogs Hawaii, Big Dogs Inc, 808 Big Dog Co, etc...are options though.

Care - Yes the plan is to franchise. I am in the process of writing the first draft of the SOP and franchise handbook. Obviously I will continue to add as I establish the business. In the event that's what I decide on, I will definitely TM as I have with my other businesses (EFI Unlimited, Designer Body, Ono Hawaiian Steaks, Kiyo-Spirit). I typically use Legal Zoom.

ME/Jinxxy - Boss Dogs does sound good. Maybe Island Boss Dogs....Hmmm
