Default Sara...

Today i was talking with my friend and she told me that her friend put her EB down at 4 years old...i was in shock i said how come she did that..she told me she went to the vet and the vet told her legs were out of the socket so i said, so... then i started telling her your story bla bla bla bla..then she says to me she just went out and bought a baby EB again...i went oh my lord...

i asked her why didn t she want her dog to get operated..she didn t know the answer...but i m curious to find out what the vet said..put her down cause it s going to $$$.. or lets operate....i asked her to ask her friend..

I went to a pet store with my friend and we were looking at the dogs there and there was a couple who was really interested in this dog so i said excuse me i know it s not my business but these dogs usually come from a puppy mill...she looked at me in shock...i said why don t you check at the shelters often they have puppies...i said your going to do 2 things...your helping the shelter and your going to save a puppy from being PTS .. they walked out....yes yes yes..i was so happy...

well, i'm glad you werent there to stop me from getting Orson at that pet store, cause he's the love of my life!!
but yeah, pet stores ARE evil. Luckily Orson wasnt from a puppy mill (i met his "breeders", but they were BYB).

i cant believe that person put down her dog b/c of joint issues!
its a simple fix, yeah it cost about $1200 but there are things like "care credit" that you can pay off that bill with.
It's not a death sentence. I cant believe a vet would agree to such a thing!!
then to go out and get another EB who will most likely have hip and or knee problems.
GOOD GRIEF!

Thats exactly what i told her..her face was in shock when i said that....i told her if this dog is a BYB then good luck...the worst part this lady has money..she s not rich but very well off...

you know i was happy the couple left but at the same time i felt sorry for those puppies in the store...they want a happy owner and a life to...

got to say my heart was breaking a bit..

English Bulldogs are a special breed. i know most of you guys have Pits and stuff but those of us with EBs knwo it is an icreadible commitment, the breed is plagued with health problems but not to the crazy extent that most people think. i think it is importnat for people to know what they are getting into when the decide on an EB. the breed is for life not just until it gets hard or costly. what suprises me is that she had an EB without pet insurance in the first place. yea i pay 100 bucks a month but it covers everything, i take yuri to the vet if i think his eyes look red, i mean anything and it doesnt cost me more than 50 buck a visit

I have two 'real' pet stores around here.. One is like a 5 minute drive, and the other is about a 30 minute drive.. I always take the 30 minute drive, then spend a few more dollars just cuz the one closer is selling these puppies from puppy mills..

But I am guilty though.. Before I got Samantha, we just wanted an American Bulldog.. I knew nothing about puppy mills, at all.. So while we were looking for a puppy, I sure did go to the close pet store to see if they had one I could buy.. Fortunately they didn't..

My troop that just adopted his AB wanted to go there for lunch one day.. Then when I schooled him on puppy mills and such, he agreed that he wasn't gonna support any store that sells them..

In a way it s heartbreaking cause we want for people to stop buying from pet stores but then you got these puppies who want as much love as the others..

they didn t ask to be a puppy mill puppy....
