I found her wandering in a parking lot behind the restaurant where I was working 11 years ago, she was a teeny tiny little 6 week old kitten. She was living in a storm drain out by the dumpster. Took us about a week to catch her, the feisty little girl, but I rescued her. She lived with me in Richmond, VA in my little apartment and when I moved to Los Angeles, she stayed behind with friends while I took a few weeks to find an apartment and get settled. When I got moved in, she got to ride on a plane there. She loved to lay out on the balconies of our apartment, in the sunshine, and watch the birds. When I moved to Pittsburgh, she took her second ride on a plane. Here she stayed upstairs, safely away from the dogs that wanted to eat her (first Boz and Jinxxy, then Mag and Sweets). She was definitely a sunshine kitty, moving all over the upstairs with the sun that came thru the windows. Feisty as all get out but a lovey at heart.
Friday when I woke up I knew it was her time. She was laying beside her food bowl (the little piggy) which was unusual, instead of laying in her giant XL doggie bed that she slept on. She was not herself. I called the vet to come to our house to put her down so I didn't have to take her to an office where she would be terrified the last hour of her life. I stayed upstairs with her all morning, stroking her and just being with her. Sat on the floor with her all morning so she would not be alone the last hours of her life. She passed away on her own a little before noon, and before the vet could come out. I was able to be there with her as she took her last breaths, and was able to hug her and whisper to her how much I loved her. RIP Sweet D-kitty, you had a great life, fun free at the Rainbow Bridge. This is her a few weeks after I rescued her. ![]() ![]() Love you my feisty furball. ![]()

I'm so sorry. I am facing that now with my Whiskers. Just a couple of months left for her.
It is so hard to lose them. I am glad she had you to bring her home and love her. |

Thanks everyone, its really hard for me. I hate losing them. It's the worst part of owning pets. But you are right, I'm glad that I was able to give her a good loving home, and spoil her rotten
