I got Abu from my dad's best friend when I was 5 and he was only a few months old. Yes, he's named after the monkey from Aladdin, one of my favorite Disney movies. He had a pretty darned good life. Up until about 4 years ago Abu was happy and healthy. 4 years ago my mom hit him backing down the driveway and we didn't think he was going to make it. But with some time and lots of love he healed and was healthy again. Then Monday night sadly my mom hit him again. This time she broke his leg. After taking him to the first vet who did nothing for him, I took him to another vet. It was in his best interest to decide to put him to sleep at the ripe old age of 14.
His last day with us on earth. ![]() "Loneliness is comforted by the closeness and touch of fur to fur, skin to skin - or skin to fur. --Paul Gallico"

I really appreciate the kind words. It's going to be hard not being greeted by him everyday.

Take comfort and solace in knowing this vet did the right thing, by not letting poor Abu suffer any longer. Now he's happily up there chasing mice with all four legs.
