Default New puppy!!

SO! My birthday present was this big guy! I hope the photos attach!

Anyway - the directions on the puppy food give me the amount of food based on what he should weigh as an adult. He is an Olde English pup - 3 months old. So according to the bag he should be getting 3 - 3 1/4 cups per day. He is averaging around 3.

He poops a lot though. Yes, I know puppies poop. However, I always thought it was usually right after eating. He is going right after eating, then again a few hours later and sometimes again shortly after that (as I cleaned up the crate at lunch time today )

So I'm wondering if 3 cups is too much? He devours his food which is wonderful to see - and I don't want to under feed him.... Most times his stools are firm (ish) other times, a little mushy..

Thoughts/suggestions?

Morley is being an awesome big sister, so tolerant of the puppy needle teeth!! Love her to pieces.

Thank you!!

Happy Birthday and congratulations on the new pup. New pups may have
a little softening of the stools as they are getting used to a new home and new food.

Why not try 3/4 of a cup three times per day and see how that does. If he is not
maintaining/growing properly than add more. As a pup, I do not think 3 cups is too
much but may be as he gets older. When you see your vet, get his ideas, also.

Thank you!! We have the vet appt tonight at 6:15, so we'll see what he says too. We were always told with our rotties, if they finished what you gave them (when they are puppies only), give them more. So that's what we are doing. I will let you know what the vet says!

Thanks again!!
