Hey everyone I am a new member and new dog owner and was hoping to get some input. I am wanting my Jackson Boy to be very muscular and fit. What exercises, food and nutrition to you recommend for me to reach this goal. I dont want to make a freak show out of him or push him to much but I want him strong and stocky looking. Any tips would be much appreciated.

keep him on a healthy diet of lean food, a little human food here and there is ok as a special treat but dont let it become common place and if you do make sure its a healthy bit of chicken or something ( i have discovered that Yuri love Cheetos so i have to watch him extra if they are around) and just make sure he gets lots of extersize, if you really want to pack on muscle look into toys that are a little bigger and heavier but still safe, i know they actually recommended a bowling ball as a toy for my EB

Thanks for the reply. I am feeding him Purina One Lamb and Rice right now and he gets lots of exercise with myself and the kids always taking him for walks and playing ball in the yard. I think I will get him some bigger toys to push around in the yard. Thanks again and I would love to see some pics of your bully.

Be carful with lamb diets, i had Yuri on them for a while and the vet said that even the high end brands of lamb food have a lot of wool and random sheep parts in them, i change Yuri to a beef diet and for 14 weeks he looks like a body builder. they said lamb got really popular in the 70s and 80s cause it was so new but in proccessing they get aloks of ground bones and wool and even straw from the pens mixed in there.
here are a couple pics of my little guy ![]()

went back and read your intro post, your puppy is only 9 weeks old, correct?
The last thing on your mind should be making your puppy muscular and fit. He's a puppy, let him be a puppy and over exercising him can cause bone/joint problems. A dog needs to be about 1 1/2 yrs old before any real conditioning is done.

I realize that hes a puppy I was just tryin to get some info on what to do to keep him in shape and not to let him get overweight and unhealthy thats all. I would not over work Jackson just to make him big and muscular. If you could give me some names of some good dog foods I would appreciate it. Not trying to sound rude but I dont look at Jackson as a prize or something that I need to make big and strong I just want whats best for him.
