Default Question about bowls for an EB

OK, I have a question about bowls,

about every website or book I read about EBs always say that bowls for an EB should be stainless steel and have straight sides and a flat bottom,
The stainless steel part I understand, but why the special shape?

Is there a health reason for this or is this whats recommended to keep them from making a mess?
I asked a couple of breeders and they say the bowl don't matter,

I can understand that it should be stainless steel and of course it should have a flat bottom, it would rock and spill if it didn't I don't understand the straight sides, some of mine are straight but the more popular brand has angled sides as they tend to be more sturdy.

Its not that I am worrying, I was just curious about why some suggest the special shape, I can understand the need for special bowls to slow eating with some dogs,
like I said I was just curious about the recommended shape for EB's,
I have used stainless bowls for all my dogs as long as I can remember, They have a flat bottom and are kinda rounded in the corners, and all of my dogs I have had did just fine with them, I have never heard of a specially shape bowl before outside of slow feeding bowls, So I was just curious what other EB owners had to say.

Stainless steel is the way to go... Don't all dog bowls have straight sides? Maybe they just mean not rounded? I've never had a problem feeding my dogs out of regular stainless steel bowls

As long as it holds food, your dog don't care!
I use ceramic and have had good luck!

*I* prefer ceramic bowls, but with my dogs "sliding into home base" style of moving through the kitchen, especially when they are excited about food, combined with their messy drinking habits-i kept having to pick up shards of ceramic bowl , it became too expensive to keep replacing them.

Yuri Uses a rounded bowl that has litle legs so it kinda sits at an angle, he like them and i like them, having the bowl tilted means he doesnt have to eat of drink straight up and down so he swallows less air and it really helps with the gas that EB have due to their short faces.
