2bully was wondering if me asking what the bark signified was a good thing or a bad thing. And honestly I know nothing about what u asked me and I feel stupid. If its to hard to explain that's fine but I would love to learn about it.

I hope an analogy will help. One could view protection/sport training as being similar to martial arts training. Its not a great analogy but I think it works in this situation. By having the dog get the bite after the bark you're training a particular display (threat display). By teaching it in the play/prey drive there is no pressure on the dog, there is no threat therefore no fear. You're training the dog to be happy in the work. The dog's body language will reflect this (you know what a happy dog looks like). So like in martial arts the practicing of forms end in muscle memory. So does the foundation you lay with your dog. If you train it in a way that the dog is happy and loves doing it, it will be in that mind frame when the darn hits the fan. That's part of the reason of letting the pup win, the pup will learn that he's the cat's meow and can beat all that comes his way.
You won't learn if you don't ask questions. I think its a great question to ask. well see the above quote.

Well I kinda get what ur saying. I am seeing jackson want for the toy more and more. After he wins a couple times he really wants to get it. I will be honest in that jackson will begin to growl but not bark and I let him win only becuase we were playing for a while and he wouldn't bark and I didn't want him to loose interest. Please tell me if this was completly wrong. Thanks

I see what ur saying. Every minute he gets more and more focused in on the prize. I will confess that after about 5 minutes of him not barking I let him have it in fear that he would loose interest. After that he got more focused but still did not bark. If this is just plain wrong then please let me know and what I should do. Thanks

Reward and praise for vocalization he'll soon learn that you want him to vocalize and will in time increase his effort. The first time he does bark end the session right there and praise that dog like there is no other dog in the world, throw that dog a party.

Default bark

Well we have been working the flirt pole and he loves it. He is very focused and if I could call it something it would be drive. One thing tho after 5 minutes without him barking I let him win. After that he got way more eager to win but still no bark. Is this bad and if so what should I do?

Some bulldogs are harder to get to bark than others. Bullies just seem less inclined to bark. Patience it will come.

May I asked what materials did you use to build your flirt pole? Thanks. I was thinking 1" PVC pipe with thin nylon rope and a shammy towel as 2bully explained.... this sound ok?
