Default Weight question?

Not the best pics but only new ones I have right now. Mack is 4 1/2 months old, weighed in at 28lbs. Would you consider him overweight or pretty normal? Both his parents are good size. Mom is 60lbs, dad is 65lbs and are both solid.

He is getting fed Natural Balance lamb/rice 1/2cup 3 times/day.

make sure you can feel his ribs easily (without feeling around) and that he has a waist when standing and looking at him from above. So if he looks like a sausage from above then he's overweight.

Here is a body condition chart. This should give you an idea...

agreed.. when you look down at your dog when they are eating you should visibly see a waste. I am a huge fan of keeping English bulldogs at a lower weight. Duke used to be almost 60 pounds and we very slowly decreased his food intake and increased his activity. there are so many reasons that you do not want your bully to be overweight.. it is good you are being aware now.
I think the amount of food you are giving is good just be sure to exercise. Duke is now 54-55 pounds very active and we can tell he feels alot better.

Thanks for that. I think I would put him between a 5 and 6 on that chart. He has a good waist and you can feel the ribs.

Will have to get some more exercise. Not sure how, he doesn't sit still all day the way it is! Don't really want to cut the food, he acts half starved all day now.

Can you post some better pictures of your dog? Post some of him standing both from the top and from the side...its looks like he is pudgy in these pics but hard to tell because he is sitting.
