Ehhhhhhh, well that is a good point in THEORY. I personally wouldn't spend $$$$ on an athlete with a...um....checkered past like this if I was a Nike bigwig. There will be many people turned off by this and the product I'm sure. Unfortunately, even though he went to jail , I'm sure the stigma of his crime will be with him for years. Something to think about before ya do something stupid and are in the public eye i guess.

So I guess all you over-reactors can buy Nike products again. Like a few people not buying their products are really gonna make them change their mind on a endorsement if there actually was one.

Doesn't anybody believe in second chances? What more does he have to do? He went to jail, served his sentence and is now trying to get on with his life. He knows he f***ed up and now he is trying to do his best to be a better person. And I am not necessarily a huge fan of Vick as a player, but it is obvious that he regrets his past choices, not that he got caught like a lot of professional athletes do.
Well, there are consequences to certain actions. Jail, consequence number one. Like I said in a previous post, having the stigma of a Pit dog fighter attatched to ya for years and years and having the public not love ya anymore: consequence #2. I'm sure there are more. I guess he has to deal with it. OR maybe he should have grabbed a brain and thought about what he was putting at risk, because we know he wasn't thinking about the dogs. I don't feel sorry for the guy at all. Not only because of the nature of his crime, but he seems like a stupid as@ to me, and now he has to live with consequences of his actions. Its called stepping up to the plate.

Not to me it isn't, when I see him talk about it he appears smug and unregretful

Agreed, that is my entire problem with this whole situation. If he seemed truly remorseful I
would maybe give him a second chance. But he has NEVER seemed to regret it as far as I am
concerned. No more Nike for me!

Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion on how he has acted since his release/reinstatement. I just personally think by observing him that he regrets it, but that is just me. Opposing team's fans will be ruthless on him anyway. He will never play another game without being reminded of his crimes.

One of my favorite quotes: "Opinions are like assholes. Everybody's got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks."

Well it works both ways...my opinion stinks to you all too because I will not boycott Nike (and notice that I didn't say that I like Vick)

I don't think your opinion stinks. He won't get endorsement deals because of this; I would think athletes that do are perceived as role models, not felons that have been given a second chance, so he screwed that up...... and carrying around the dog fighting stigma is punishment enough I am sure. What bad judgment on his part.
