He has paid his dues...he went to jail for his crimes. He should be able to begin to live a normal athlete's life again which if you are good enough usually includes endorsements.

This thing about Vick paying his dues irritates me to no end. Yes, he paid his dues in jail and all that good stuff and can return to society which is great. I still think that he should not be allowed back into the NFL. There are so many professions out there that if you have a conviction of that nature, you can not return to that line of work no matter how hard you work to return to the field. I firmly believe that in the NFL, all of the star players have an obligation to the fans to uphold a certain standard of action when out in the public. I don't mean that they have to be nice, but there should be a standard that if they are convicted of a felony, they should not be allowed to return to the NFL.

Well I guess Nike is now denying that they do not have a contractual agreement with Mike Vick.
In a statement released Thursday morning, Nike said it has "agreed to supply product to Michael Vick as we do a number of athletes who are not under contract with Nike." - ESPN So I guess all you over-reactors can buy Nike products again. Like a few people not buying their products are really gonna make them change their mind on a endorsement if there actually was one. Doesn't anybody believe in second chances? What more does he have to do? He went to jail, served his sentence and is now trying to get on with his life. He knows he f***ed up and now he is trying to do his best to be a better person. And I am not necessarily a huge fan of Vick as a player, but it is obvious that he regrets his past choices, not that he got caught like a lot of professional athletes do.

It s not because i don t believe in second chances... a second chance should be good for everyone and it not..thats the unjustice of this situtation..often your a star, athlete, model ect and there given another chance...why can t it work of ordinary people like us.
that what pisses me off.. if ordinary people have a felony file or some problem with the law the company would boot us out.. |
