Quantum Physics

Sounds very scientific and a bit too geeky for most it seems...

But has anyone studied this and can anyone demonstrate a good understanding of basic quantum physics?

Ive been getting into it for a while, and whilst a good deal of it is well beyond me I do truly think that quantum physics is what governs the connection between all life forms on this planet including our relationship to one another and especially the inseperable bond between us and our dogs.

Never more clearly and concisely can quantum physics be illustrated than the classic 'dog knowing instictively when its owner is leaving for home' phenomenon.

Anyone?

I feel like that would have something to do with them being able to identify the sound of your car and they can hear it coming down the road. Humans are smarter than dogs, but they don't have ESP or anything. So its hard for me to believe that dogs can tell when I leave work 30 mins away from from home.

The wife and I are on tight schedules. We come and go at exactly the same time every day. Not much variance in our schedules at all. My rottie is exceptionally keen when it comes to this. She will park herself in front of the door approx. 20 minutes before either one of us gets home. I think she's tuned into the consistency of our schedules.

Studies and experiments have shown that without any outside assistance (car sounds etc) certain dogs can predict the return of their owner.

To the extent that even if the owner intends to return home but on the way something sets them off course and they dont arrive on time (or at all) the dog reacts as if the owner is coming home at roughly the moment when he/she decides to make that trip.

Its a little documented phenomenon but its certainly not make believe.

Our JRT goes to the front of the house and looks out the window about 20 minutes before the school bus stops at our house on weekdays. The bus is several miles away when she starts looking. She does not do this on the weekends. Our AB shows no such intuition!

Hmmm I'd have to see the actual study on this. How do scientists determine that a dog "knows" their owner is coming home since the dog can't talk. Does he go to the window? Could it just be he knows its around that time for his owner to come home so he goes to the window to wait?

Whether or not youre right about the dogs bit Steph doesnt disprove Quantum Physics one bit, quantum physics is definitely not hocus pocus.

As for the tests they used this criterion and some of the dogs still displayed this sixth sense, if you will.

  • Responding to routine – the owner would leave home at a randomly selected time
Sensory cueing from owner – the owner would return from a location which is sufficiently far away to eliminate such cues
Sensory cueing from people remaining with the pet – no one who remains with the pet would know when the owner will return
Selective memory – the experimenter would make a complete and accurate recording of the pet's behavior

Multiple guesses – the owner's behavior or intention that allegedly causes the pet to signal their return would be clearly determined before the start of the experiment

Misremembering – both owner and pet should be carefully monitored during the experiment to determine when they carried out the relevant behaviors

Selective matching – anyone attempting to judge the record of the pet's behavior and decide when (s)he made the appropriate signal should not know when the owner started to return home

For one thing, dogs have an inner clock. EVERY night at 9:30, she and Maverick
come to my chair for me to let them out. Now I do not always get up at that time
but that does not stop them. The next night they are back to the chair at 9:30 again.

I also believe that dogs have an inner sense - how and why, I do not know.

just recently hubby and I saw a documentary on quantum physics...Brian Green (wrote "the elegant universe" great book) hosted it. It was pretty good, I think it was on discovery channel. I'm a documentary junkie...and somewhat of a nerd I guess. There was another book by michio kaku, hyperspace (and einsteins cosmos) that was wonderful as well.

I don't know how they have connected that to dogs, I'll have to go back and read the article. But "esp" or whatever you would like to call it does exist in humans--so why would it be a stretch to say that a dog knows stuff that seems impossible to know?

and whatever...this whole topic (or any other topic for that matter) is a fun exercise in speculation and opinions--but the reality of it all is that we don't know jack. I guess that's why I like quantum physics, and string theory and the rest of it--it's humbling.

I have all of Henry Blake's books . . . have had a very strong connection with one of my mares . . .

Henry Blake is the author of Horse Sense: How to Develop Your Horse's Intelligence and Thinking with Horses. He was an expert who spent more than 40 years working with horses and ran a riding holiday center in Wales. Having spent a lifetime working with horses, the original horse whisperer shares his secrets to equine communication in this enlightening guide for riders of all skill levels. Through telepathy and extra-sensory perception, riders will be able to build a special rapport with their horses, ultimately learning to think and move together as one. A revelation to read—and an international bestseller when it was first published—this indispensable companion will change any rider's approach to the training and management of horses.

sounds interesting!

Dogs Say the Darndest Things; Are You Listening? An Animal Communicator's Dialogs with Dogs [Paperback]

5.0 out of 5 stars
Have you ever wondered what a dog might say to humans if we were to listen? When I began my career as an Animal Communication Specialist in 1997, I imagined dogs would want to talk about their food and activities, but I soon found out what they really wanted was to assist people in knowing our true selves and our purpose in being. In my daily communications with dogs, I began to experience one profound and enlightening conversation after another and I knew that one day I must share them with my fellow humans. The time has come! Join me now in discovering answers to questions in life you may never have thought to ask and what you may never have dreamed you would hear from a dog! As you experience these dialogs with dogs, you will receive insight into your own life as well as guidance from them on how to enhance your own natural way of listening. You too, can hear your dog and I heartily encourage you to listen!

I have several of Marta's book . . . learned a lot from her

Learning Their Language: Intuitive Communication with Animals and Nature by Marta Williams and D.V.M. Cheryl Schwartz (Apr 2003)
Beyond Words: Talking with Animals and Nature by Marta Williams and D.V.M. Marty Becker (Aug 29, 2005)

read everything I can find by Linda

I believe there is, the more you learn, practice, read, the more you will understand . . . I need to practice with the dogs, I have it with some of the horses . . . but the connection I had with my mare, we could read each others minds, it was awesome, I would stay totally still and think something and she would do it . . .

Henry Blake and other animal communicators in England have been using ESP with animals for many many years . . .
human/animal communication been around for eons, ppl just don't talk about it for fear of being called crazy, wrong, an idiot, looney etc . . . LOL!
