Default What do you do with your dog/dogs when company arrives?

When someone knocks on my door I always pull the blinds back to see who it is. If it's a friend that the boys know I will open the door without any issues. If it a stranger, meter reader or trades guy etc.I will either put them in a bedroom, crate or in the fenced backyard. They have never shown aggression to anyone that has visited my house but I guess I feel more comfortable with a "just in case mentality". Besides that not to many people are comforted with two large dogs greeting them so I don't think it's fair to the person.

Sorry I did the best I could with the questions I guess I could be paranoid but I haven't met someone the boys didn't like but on the other hand they could pick up something they didn't like. If I was was vague on choices, a comment would suffice. All the trades guy get a laugh from Ares (cat) he crawls into their tool boxes or nudges their hands to pet him. I had to keep and eye on him while the ducts were being cleaned because I was afraid he would get sucked up into the vacuum or crawl through the ducts, as they say curiosity killed the cat

It's a mixed answer. If it's someone Atticus is used to being in the house, I allow them in, trusting 110%.

I generally don't allow "strange" folks into the house. If it's someone he's not used to, he's on his leash/prong and sitting with me or the husband. No forced greetings.
