Default Dog Peeing on his Bed?

Hi, my year and a half year old male has always had the habbit of somewhat 'marking' his bed. anyone else experience this problem? He hasnt had a bed for a while now bc of this and he usually finds his own spots to sleep around the house but Id really like to get him another bed...just afraid of buying it then it getting ruined. Any suggestions or do you think I should just leave it how it is without the bed

My guy used to do that. He would pee on it once, get his scent on it, I would wash it, and he wouldn't have another problem or issue. I would get another bed, just get one that you can WASH.

Dylan used to pee on his beds all of the time.
I took it away for a bit and then reintroduced him to comfy things. First towels, then a comforter, then a bed.
Towels are so easy to wash which is why I brought them in first. Every time he peed on something he lost it for a few weeks/months. Haven't had a problem in over a year.

if you get him fixed he will be less likely to mark things, and if not just get him a bed you can wash easily they should have tons at Petco or something. maybe start him off with towles

Not always true. It depends on if its actually a behavioral issue or actual marking there is a difference and its not always easy to tell it.

Zeus used to pee on his bed if it was new or washed, he hasn't done this in ages. I don't remember if he was fixed or not when he stopped, I think it was more of a puppy thing. Zero used to pee on Zeus when he was a little guy to mark him, I put a stop to that right away

agreed if its a behavioral issue you have a whole nother set of problems but if he is marking getting him fixed may aleviate it to some degree

Yeah our spayed girl dog has peed on her bed to mark it before so I'm not entirely sure that neutering would make a difference HAHA!

There are some beds that you can take the covers off of and wash the covers. The ones that we buy have a cover that comes off and that is water repellant so the water doesn't go through to the mattress part.

My boy used to pee on our girl's bed, it got to be very frustrating having to wash it all the time, I even used pee pad liners in the covers so I didn't have to keep washing the mattress part. I couldn't figure out if it was behavoural or laziness (it is a long walk for a little bullie to get down the back to pee :O So, I gave him a litter tray, and low and behold, the peeing on the beds stopped I guess it was laziness :P
