Wassup everybody....

I would like to thank all those that helped with the previous post of my EB having a slight limp. Turns out it is just minor growing pains and I am now in the process of switching him to adult food. All the advice really helped calm my nerves down. The vet has said that he is normal and healthy....

NOW I have encountered a completely different problem with Bentley!!!! His poops are sooooo loose. Diarrhia I believe. Its been going on for about a week now. Prior to this week his poops were normal, blocked chunks.....NOW he wakes up in the middle of the night and just spills everywhere. It has been an ongoing issue and I haven't been able to get good sleep since. Any advise will help!!!!

I dont think its the food since I haven't bought the new adult dog food yet. I will be doing that this weekend. He's been eating the same dog food, same dog treats. NOthing has changed except his excretions. PLEASE ADVISE!!!!!

He is 5 months old. weights in at 35 lbs.

I just find it odd that he has been having the severe runs lately. This past week actually. I am going to the vet this saturday so I will ask him about it.

Pumpkin seems to be everyone's answer. I will try that out....

I will have the vet take a stool sample as well.

Hope everything works out. It seems like every week or everytime I go to the vet something new occurs.....

Be prepared to go to the vet a ton....almost until they turn one.

If it's been the past week, it sounds like he's got colitis.

yea.....I have been taking him to the vet everytime i think there is something wrong. I dont want it to be sever problems...

I hope he doesn't have colitis. It has come about to suddenly.....
His stools have been solid for a very long time. Just this past week its been going on...

Saturday....he woke up in the middle of the night 3 am and just let loose stool in my bedroom....

Sunday.....was fine. regular solid poop

Monday....he first lets out regular solid poops...then after that he lets out looose

Tuesday.....he was fine......then in the middle of the night I took him outside twice.....1st time it was solid then loose.....2nd time was sraight up loose.....3rd time it was loose in the house.....

SO i'm confused at this point.

He doesn't seem lethargic, everything is fine....only thing different is that his poop schedule is a little off and he only goes in late afternoon, late night......before he would go after every meal....I feed him about 2-3 times daily....small portions.....

HEEEEELLLLLLLLLLP!!!!

That is what I was thinking... and with this...it is not so much diarrhea, which is very runny and watery, but it is just soft loose stool, no form to it.

Many things can cause colitis. an allergy to a food, a sudden change or something dramatic happening that upsets them. Sometimes the reason is unknown and it just happens.

But a good shot of an antidiarrhea medicine and some antibiotics will clear it right up.

Is it explosive diarrhea, or just loose?

Sounds like he's allergic to something, which is what caused Atticus to get colitis. It wasn't that hard to remedy, though. You'll be ok. :)
were you typing as I was submitting?? lol

With coloitis, they cannot control their bowl movements, thats why you find in their cage. They get the feeling that they have to go and they have to go NOW. so it is very similar to diarrhea, but like I stated earlier, it is not the watery kind of stool, just a loose no form to it stool

well he can still hold it....usually he tries to go to the pee pads that we place in the apt.....

it is a loose, no form...not watery.....

but he is pretty good at holding it or not letting go in areas....except for a few nights...

It seems like everyone thinks its colitis...I will be going to the vet on saturday. I hope its nothing severe....

Sounds like splatter butt has a good old dose of colitis!! and is not "sick" as in something is really upsetting his tummy causing diarrhea.

To help with this until you can get to the vet saturday... I would feed a bland diet of boiled chicken and plain rice to sooth his tummy and possibly cut out what is causing this (if it is an allergy)

Kate had colitis twice before the vet recommended a change of food. She had it twice of a year. Changed food... none sense knock on wood. And the first food she was on was a good food, just not for Kate

Yep! Same with Atticus...he developed it BADLY when he was around 3 or 4 months of age. We found out through trial and error that it was wheat in the food that was doing it to him. I like to say he could have painted the house with his rear end.
