Hello all. We will be welcoming our new baby Ripley in about two weeks. She's an X-mas baby born 12/25. Our family is from the NJ shore. We have a Boston, two cats and two kids. I would like some advice. We got word from the breeder that Ripley's tail was broken (her mom stepped on it, has since healed, no pain). We are not concerned with how it looks, but would like to know if this may cause her any problems down the road. Here's some photos of her.
Thanks in advance for any info you guys can provide...We love her so much already...

So adorable! I am not sure about the tail. Our adult doxie seemed to have broken his at one point and we just kind of manipulated it back into place after it was not so sore and it looks fine now.

A friend of mine had the same thing happen to one of his pups from a litter. They thought no one would adopt the pup due to her tail but she was one of the first to go. Aparantly the Vet said it wouldn't/shouldn't be a problem. Welcome, great pictures

Is Ripley too young?

Hi all. thanks for the kind words. She's just the most beatiful girl ever. Here's some pics of her mom and dad. Dad is very bully looking. Mom not as smushy faced. She was a little taller than dad. The breeder did not see a problem with us taking her next weekend. Do you guys recommend waiting another week? She will be about 7 weeks by then.

I got Zeus at 7 weeks and he was fine. He was pigging out on kibble as soon as I brought him home. His mother wasn't very good with the litter so they let them go young. She acted as if the pups weren't even there, she had to be forced to feed them.

Ripley is home.

Hello .. We are so happy. We picked up our new baby yesterday. She's 7 weeks old. So far so good. She's sleeping, and eating, and pooping. The regular baby stuff. We got lucky and she really likes her crate, so far. We did not have the heart to let her sleep alone last night, so she slept with us. She got up once to poop (those housebreaking pads are great).
It's a bit too cold here at the Jersey shore for her to go out yet. Her naked belly make her shiver.

I have the house @ 72 degrees, she's still shivering, is it too cold?

Here's some pics of Ripley..

6-7 week is not to early to give pups away as long as they are hand raised and how well mom dose with them dad to i am fortunate that our male is great with the pup would never leave him alone with them but when suppervised he is the best
