my 6 week old bullboxer we go out side just find on the leash he poties out side in the front yard but when i try to walk him down the street but when leave the yard he want to sit there and choke himself now i just stop pushing him to walk down the street should i try to keep pushing him

If you stop pushing, he wins. Put the leash high up on his neck and make him move forward. Once he sees that he's not going to get his way, he may actually enjoy the walk. Don't make a big fuss over his behavior, just keep moving forward. He's like a little kid right now. He'll realize that his tantrums aren't getting him any attention and definitely aren't getting him his way. Good luck.

Don't expect him to do much of anything except eat, sleep, chew and poop at 6 weeks old.

You shouldn't take him outside in public till he has all of his puppy shots, which end at 3-4 months old. You run the risk of him contracting serious diseases before he is fully vaccinated. Him being 6 weeks... you probably picked him up a day or two ago, and he probably got his shots the day you picked him up or the day before... so he has had NO time to build up immunity.

Keep him in your house and back yard, away from other dogs and public places untill he is fully vaccinated. This means, no Petsmart, Petco, dog parks, or walking on leashes around the block.

Let him walk around with the leash attached to him. It will let him get used to it, it worked on my little man good.

But.... only in the house and back yard.....

Sorry i should have said that. With close adult supervision!

We had a hard time with our bullboxer at first, he did the same thing yours does when I would take him for a walk. I am in agreement with the OP's though, until his shots are done with he should really be in the house and back yard under your supervision. You can always work with him indoors too and that'll help.

Like everyone else said at six weeks he doesn't need walks. He is more then likely overwelmed by everything because he is new to the world. Give him time to get used to the house and to bond with you. I got Zeus at just over 7 weeks and that was too young. At that age they will get enough exercise playing with you and he will sleep alot anyhow. Make sure you buy lots of paper towel, you are going to need it

Don't worry about walking your pup at 6 weeks. Why would you want to do that anyways? You are opening him up to the possibility of disease. Plus walking on a leash can be way too much exercise for a pup of that age. If you want to practice with the leash do it on your lawn or inside. But I would wait a few weeks and let him get used to his new environment and just let him be a pup.

At this young his joints are still growing- don't worry about walks until later on...do socialize tho. Take him around other dogs, you have to do what the mommy would do. This is a crutial time for puppies and w/ out a mom to 'show' them how to behave it could potentially be bad...step up and things will be great
