Thank You ALL for your thoughts, words, and prayers (and the IMs and PMs). My wife is breathing easier and eating a little more since yesterday's chest tube procedure. They pulled off 1000ml, then clamped the tube for 8 hours, then started over. We're in a holding our own point of the situation; her oncologist and team are looking at the 3 chest x-rays, the PET/CAT scan report, the blood and chest fluid culture results to be able to come up with the next best step. As I know more I will certainly share it with my bullybreed friends.

My prayers are with your wife, with you and with the rest of your family.
I pray for strength for all of you during this time as this battle is being fought.
Ensure is an easy way to get nutriants and Gatorade if she likes it will help to
keep her hydrated. Ice chips in a thermal cup are good too and so are
popsicles. God be with you all. Pat

My heart is aching for you and your family... My mother had breast cancer, surgery, radiation and chemo; it is horrific to see someone you love in pain and hurting. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers...

My bride of almost 25 years and I went to the hospital yesterday for 2 main reasons and received mixed results: The xray turned out good and her chest drain tube was removed (good), but the visit with her Dr ( Oncologist) had pretty devistating news. The disease is beyond treatment, and the Dr suggested we start just treating the symptoms (comfort and Hospice were discussed). I was expecting this after talking to several friends that have recently gone through a similar situation and recognized some signs. My wife still has the final call but more as a formality, to get the Hospice people going. I'm taking a sabbatical for a while to give my wife (and children) all the attention, joy, memories and comfort I can offer.

I cannot even being to imagine - I know we don't know each other but certainly if you need anything and there's even the remotest chance I (or I'm guessing anyone else on this board) can do to be of service please do not hesitate to let us know. This is - unfortunatly - something I've seen/experienced more than once in my life - my heart is just aching for you.

I have been wondering if there was an update... thank you for letting us know.
I'm happy the tube is out. I bet she feels much better.
I'm sorry about the news the doctor told you.
Are you going to plan any fun trips or just keep living a normal day and enjoy every little moment?

I am so sorry that you, your wife, and family has to go through this. I have lost many family members to cancer and stayed at a few hospices. I can not imagine going through it with a spouse. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. It is hard, but try not to let her see you down. Give her strength.
