I am not sure why but Jazz was at the dog park the other day, because my boyfriend and i took him there to get some exercise. Jazz loves it there and really just runs after the other dogs and has a good time. We took him on a saturday evening and he was fine until he saw the Huskeys. There were about 4 of them running around and any time one of them came up to Jazz he bared teeth and tried to go after them. This happend three times and then we leashed him and left because obviously he was being looked at as a "bad dog" by the other pet owners, and for our legal obligations, we didnt want to see him shred face. Its just really wierd though, becuase he was wrestling all the other dogs and playing and having a good time... but any time a Huskey came to play with him... he got super p-eed off and attacked them.

Anyone else have this happen? Why is it just that breed?

For a lot of dogs Huskies are a threat simply from the way that they hold themselves (very forward on their front feet, tail up, ears up, a naturally dominant posture), same with bulldogs, Akitas, etc. Sighthounds, especially those only raised with other sighthounds, can get into trouble because they will stare dogs down. So if your dog is having issues with a breed of dog that it has not had a negative experience with, I would look at how that breed carries itself.

An APBT has no business being at a dog park, and this is why you are having problems.

That'll be $1000 please.

Agreed!

Anyways Rocky does dislike, but gets shy and submissive around fluffy dogs, big or small (Goldens, Bermese Mountain Dogs, Bichon Frise, etc.) in stead of jumping around and trying to engage them in play, he pressed himself against the ground and army crawls/wiggles over to them. Then he will roll on his back and try to lick them. I dont know why the fluffiness brings out the submissive behavior.

Bogey is a little bit like Rocky...he doesn't like dogs with fluffy hair, but only the big ones.
He especially does not like boxers, huskies, and German shepherds. He loves all little
dogs and dogs that he's known since he was a puppy, no matter what size.

There is an akita in the neighborhood that Jack can't stand. He does not seem to single out breeds to hate. But he loves Rottweilers and Labs! My parents have a Rott mix that has been his buddy since puppyhood, and my brother in law has a yellow lab that is his buddy, so maybe this is based on that. And one time, at Petsmart, he got down on his belly and had a really wiggly butt over a little wienie dog with a pink coat and bows on her ears! He is such a goofy goober!

Did you know a dominant dog will roll to show there are no danger to another dog. thus letting them no they are not in danger.

I'm pretty sure that i didnt ask you about that. This is a question I had and I know what people say about taking them to dog parks or not. I personally see many there and they are typically just fine. The point is, i was responsible and we left when he started to be a little agressive, and we havent been back since.
