So we finally took Mater canoeing with us. We actually had a good time. We had to get on a bus full of boy scouts to drop us off up river and I was very proud of him for ignoring all the little hands wanting to pet him. Mater only jumped out of the canoe once and the was at the very beginning and he decided he wanted to stay in the canoe the rest of the trip :) We got so many compliments about Mater which makes me feel good in the fact that I'm actually doing something right :) I was however upset at the fact of all the dogs that we saw off leash  but Mater did just fine when I gave him a command he did it without batting an eye :D Anyways the trip went much better than expected. Here are some pic (please ignore the black in the corners it was from the water proof case I put my camera in):

It was actually a blast and Mater did wonderful the whole time. But I doubt we take him next time we go because it was hard to steer the canoe when Mater kept going side to side and rocking the canoe

Looks like fun. I couldn't imagine having Zeus in a canoe, I'm sure he would flip us :)
We thought the same thing but Mater actually did quite well. We did have the canoe flip on us once but that was only because there was a not so safe turn and a lot of down trees which we tried to avoid but it didn't work out

I take Zeus out in my bow rider and he is all over the place. He likes to stand on the sides or stand on the swim platform and has tried to jump out at high speeds. I have to tie him to the windshield support to keep him still :)

Yeah I had to switch Brian spots after 5 miles so that I could get Mater in the very front of the canoe so he couldn't turn around and lean over the sides. He eventually just laid down and went to sleep

It took us about 6.5 hours to go 13 miles but that was having to stop frequently because canoes were tipping all over the place - the river was really rough this year. Oh, and the weather decided to unleash a monsoon on us  so we had to stop for about 45 minutes to let the weather clear up.
