i was using kong puppy shampoo, i have to go to work right now and it sucks cause ill be worried the whole shift. i dont see any swelling around his nose and he seems to be breathing fine.I have family watching him while im gone.

I bet he is sensitive to something in shampoo..maybe try or have family try cold compesses to swelling a few times. If he reacted that fast makes me think he has an issue with it. If he gets worse have someone let u know or take him to emergency vet. Bet worse is over..just keep an eye out.

so happy he is ok.. just a word of caution from another EB owner.. when you bath him ( and do not bath that often be sure to put cotton balls in his ears.. if ears get wet an you do not dry you will have ear infections to deal with next :(and be very very careful not to get anything near his eyes ( think you found this out the hard way).. their eyes are so sensitive plus with all the added wrinkles you have to be extra careful.. We keep saline eye solution ( just pure saline ) eye drops handy.. if this were to happen again or say he gets a piece of fuzz or something you can put a few drops in the eye to rinse it out. be sure to take a tissue and DRY his wrinkle folds on his face when you are done. moisture is the devil with these dogs.. he is really really cute! Glad all is ok! \\:D/

welcome, I try to share all the things I had to learn the hard way :laughing6:, I was thinking also you should always have benadryl in the house.. if they ever have an allergic reaction to anything you would call the vet ER but give this to them first.. ( our vet told us this at the first visit)

it is so hard when something happens to our pups :(
I remember one time Duke was playing with a toy and the fuzz got in his eye.. his eye swelled up so bad and we took him to the ER vet.. ( this is how we found out about the saline solution)..

Damn, is this real bad?

Hey all hows everybody doing, well nacho and i are good but ive noticed something wrong with his eye. About 2 days ago i guess you would call it one of his eye glands has been showing (just like the pic) so i monitored it and he wasnt scratching it and it went back to normal. But just today while playing around it showed up again, its not bothering him but i dont want to not ignore it. Is this cherry eye?

yup looks like cherry eye to me too, if you can massage it into place sometimes it holds but you need to do it as soon as you notice it out of place.

Get your vet to show you.

here it is about 1/2 hr later. i didnt do anything, it worked its way back in i guess. thoughts?
Thats good hopefully it stays in.

Hey all how is everybody doing?Nacho is funny, as i write this he is doing what he loves the most. Licking the heck out of my legs and feet, this little bully is so weird LOL!!! I mean seriously is this normal? normally dogs lick faces and jump up on the seat to lick faces, nacho i guess realizes since he is low to the ground that he will take the legs instead. its almost embarassing causewhen company comes over he always goes for their legs and licks with no abandon. Anybody else have funny bully tendencies?
