Hi! Hank is a 10 week old E. Bull dog. We have had him for a week. We ahve been feeding him 2/3 of a cup a day. And in the last week he gained 2.5 lbs. Which I thought seemed good.
But then I checked on Science Diet's website (we feed him Science Diet Puppy Small Bites) for a 10 lb dog and they suggest 1 and 3/4 a day. WHOA! Have I been starving my pup, even though he is growing. I know the 1 an d3/4 cup doesn't include training treats, but it seems like such a jump. Any suggestions??

I'm not sure about EBs...but I've always fed my puppies pretty much all they'll eat until they're around 4 months and then I start to monitor if they're gluttons...my corgi and my dachsie aren't big eaters, so I'm not worried about them...

What does your breeder suggest?

We have an EB who is now 7 months old. Our vet told us to always give our dog 30% less than what it says on the package. Our breeder told us when we got Loki at 8 weeks to start him off on a Junior food rather than puppy food for the same reason as mentioned above. We give him Royal Canine Junior and once he is one year old we will get him the Bulldog Breed Royal Canine. Hope this helps!

science diet is a poor food. the meat content is low and not to metion the by products. i would suggest canidae all life stages or innova puppy if u can find it. and i wouldnt listen to your vet on what food u should feed because there not really taught about nutriion in vet school. i did my own research. but anyways im sorta a nutrition expert lol well i wouldnt say expert but i know alot about nutrition so just let me know if ur wondering about a food and ill let u know if its good.
