Hello,

I am new here, and am looking forward to utilizing these forums to their fullest. My girlfriend and I just got an 8 week old English Bulldog. She is a purebread female, brown with a black muzzle.

We brought her home last night from the breeders, and she is doing just fine. She eats on her normal schedule, and we have only run into one indoors bathroom incident. We are still feeding her the canned food that the breeder raised her on "Merrick Puppy Plate", and she has no problem with that. She knows where her food is, and her water dish is right there beside it (stainless dishes, of course :)

Anyways, she won't drink water. I have only seen her drink once, when she first came home with us and we showed her around the house. She is peeing fine, and pooping fine and regularly, just no water?

Am I worried for nothing? Is she getting enough moisture from the wet canned food?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks alot for the help.

You know how it is with a new puppy, you are always worried about eerything.

We are going back to see the vet on Thursday, and that is when the vet wants us to start weaning her off the wet food.

Water

I have a 7 mo old English bully. We kinda had the same problem when we first got him. We read in a book on EB's that they like cold water. We add ice to his water bowl and he LOVES it. We also give him ice to chew. We don't add ice all the time, only when we first change out his bowl. Every once in a while inbetween times. It just depends on how you want to do it. I hope this helps.

your pup likes ice too? My girl loves to chew on ice. When i put ice in her bowl, she bobs for em like they're apples and her nose makes the snorkling sound cuz she's exhaling into the water... its the funniest thing. She also chews on ice... i think i just discovered the cheapest most hypoallergenic treat.
