Hi everyone! I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks and decided to "come out" of the bully closet!
I'm Lisa. Chyna is my older furkid (hence, Chynasmom). She's a 5 1/2 year old brindle APBT/Boxer(?) mix that hubby and I adopted from the local SPCA in 2001. She was just a year old, and her "turn in" slip said that her family loved her but didn't have the time and energy she required. Boy, were they not kidding! She arrived home with us, a bundle of loving, well-meaning, TOTALLY UNTRAINED energy. She HAD been crate-acclimated and housetrained somewhere along the line (thank heavens!). Now, 4.5 years later, she's the "good" dog. (Well, until she gets the zoomies and goes racing around the house or yard tearing up everything in her path!)
Last fall we adopted Ozy - our best guess about him is Sheltie/something - he's got a collie-ish face, but that's about as far as we get. His full name is "Ozymandias" (the Greek name for the Pharaoh Ramses) - you could say that DH and I were "expecting someone taller" (the rescue had him down as Collie/German Shepherd) but he just stopped growing.
When I'm not hanging with the pooches or at work, I'm at the barn (no horse of my own, but I keep dreaming) or bicycling or watching cheesy sci fi movies (blame DH for both of those habits!).
I'll try to post photos some time soon. I'm a little tech-inept, so it may take a week or so!
