this imy second post on this board, I've learn a lot just lurking around. Now I have a question.
Do any of you tape the ears of your American bulldogs to keep them from being carried in a high position?
I know that bullmastiffs get their ears taped during teething.

Different breed. With Bullmastiff's the ear set is important in the show ring, AB's just let em be. The drop ears are a mastiff trait and the rose or prick ears are from the bulldog. Your dog with have the ears of whichever breed it most resembles as they are both in the AB's history.

if you prefer a certain ear carriage taping will work . most people don't bother because, as kismet said, as long as the set is proper carriage doesn't matter

I just taped my AB puppies ears I'll let you know how it turns out.So far so good.I like the look of the Mastiffs ears after they've gone thru the taping so I decided to do the same for my AB.

I taped my boston's ears while he teethed LOL...they should stand up-right (they were going to be either erect or rose from the looks of things) but now they are drop and floppy and I love it. :lol:

He can still pull them back when he's excited and they look rose at that point, but when he's relaxed they just drop down all floppy
