Sally, our 1 1/2 year old OEB, used to literally go to attack someone who came into the house ONLY when they put their hand down for her to smell so we would have to hold her when people came in. We have a friend who is an NY state trooper who brought his co-worker who works with k-9 unit over. His advice to us was to tell anyone who walked in that she doesn’t know, to just ignore her. Do not put their hands down. If she jumps on them let one of us get her down. We have done this since January and has worked perfectly. Usually about an hour or so later, she is their best-friend and lets them pet her.

Just wanted to share if anyone else has this problem!

THe show is now out on DVD, i'm sure you can find it to buy on internet or E-bay.
The ignoring the people is what he suggests, just let the dog get to know people on it's own
terms, and not have people force themselves on a dog that is not ready to greet anyone..that could lead to
a bite.
Good Advice!
