Well, I guess Bella's allergies weren't as in check as I thought they were. She's been getting hives (or what look like hives) about twice a week. She never seems to be bothered by them, though. She never scratches or otherwise indicates that she's uncomfortable. I'm really glad that we got a new vet who doesn't charge exam fees each time we take the dogs in. I have a feeling Bella is going to be spending a lot of time there this summer. :)

I just snapped this picture a minute ago, after Bella had been outside for about 10-15 minutes:

Would you say those are hives? I'm not even sure. They're only on the left side of her body. She wasn't lying down in the grass on that side, so I'm not sure why they're only on that side!

I am not sure what that is, but Zack has been doing the same thing. That is so weird!! The vet suggested we change his food, that it may be a wheat allergy. That is exactly how Zack's coat looks when he has a reaction!! The vet did a test where he scraped the hair and skin on his back, but so far nothing. Give her some benadryl, that helps Zack. Although it does not seem to bother him, it bothers me.

Interesting! Does Zack get bumps like that all the time, or just after he eats, or what? Bella just gets them when she goes outside. I give her some Benadryl when I let her back in, and after lying around the house for 20-30 minutes, the bumps are mostly gone. It's such a nice day today, though, that I don't want her to be cooped up inside the house all day!

Haus gets those exact same bumps. He only gets 3-4 of them. I thought they were bug bites or something, but allergies make sense now.

I wonder why he didn't get those as a pup?

When did he start getting them? Bella's been getting them since she was about 2 1/2 months old, which would be June of last year. This must be a really crappy month for allergies. I know mine are driving me nuts!

Yup, he has them when he comes back in. Usually just a few, on his legs or his back hips. I just think they are strange. We're going to spray our yard for bugs, because I think they might just be bug bites. They don't go away right away(take about a day or two), but they don't bother him. Who knows?

Dixie has developed allergies since her pregnancy-weird huh? She gets them too. She had started them when she was pregnant and the oak ws in bloom. They started on her back of her legs where the pollen got kicked up when she walked, then spread all over her body. She couldnt take anything due to her pregnancy. After the pups were weaned, we got her cleared up. But she still gets the bumps. I thought hives too, but Dixies dont go away easy. So then I thought heat bumps, we are in Florida, but no.........she gets them too.

Cato has about 5 smack on top of his head, just bumps, dont seem to bother him. They arent scratchy or red or anything, just 5 small bumps!

Dixie now takes atarax every day, it seems to work ok. But man, after her pregnancy, she lost every bit of hair almost and had a good round of steroids for weeks!

But, now swimming time again, and she also breaks out from the chlorine! Greeeeeaaaatttttt!

Zacks bumps come and go. They may be there one day and the next day no problems!! I just thought he was a weirdo!! it is strange that other dogs are doing this too. He started this about 2 or 3 months ago. I will try to post a pic next time I see some on him. The strange thing is they do not bother him at all. I give him benadryl and they usually go down. He mostly gets the bumps on his head, back and sides, not so much on his legs. It is making me crazy!! I wish I knew for sure what it was. My Boxer never has had anything like this! I would think if it was something in my yard he would welp up too. Let me know if yall find any solutions.

I'm not really sure, they look like they could be some nasty hives though. I hope they don't bother Bella that much! Poor baby :(
These are pretty mild compared to what they usually look like. She usually gets them all over rather than just on one side. I don't even think she notices them! Or, maybe she's just really good at ignoring the itchiness. :)

Yep, those are hives. They don't have to be from the grass. Could be fleas, or some other kind of pollen. Are there any weeds or flowers she could have walked by or rubbed up on? Also she could have eaten the grass or weed. I'm not sure why it would effect one side, but it would occasionally happen to Spooky.
