I have owned an American Bulldog, Am Staff, and currently own a 12 year old APBT, I fear his days may be coming to an end and will miss him greatly. I am considering my next dog being an English Bull Terier. It is hard getting an unbiased opinion on these dogs from APBT people, there is alot of Bulls**t between the 2 groups. Has anyone here ever owned an APBT and an EBT? how do the 2 dogs compare? Does anyone here have any opinion on the EBT?....Thanks...Mike

I have never owned a White English Bull terrier, but I have met a couple of people who have. The consensus seems to be that they are goofy, loving and high energy and very mischevious and stubborn. Sounds like a fun and intelligent dog to own, but also a little more work to train than the average dog. But again, I'm no expert this is just what I've heard.

I LOVE DEXTER!! He is soooooo handsome! So has it been hard to train him?
Nope....we had a trainer! This trainer enjoyed trying to train Dexter, that he went to BTCA and adopted his very own EBT!
One afternnon, we were a half hour into the training sesion, and Dexter layed down, he had enough. No amount of coaxing would get him up.....Jeff, the trainer laughed, and said he had never, ever had a dog do that....here is Jeff and Dexter!

Those pics of Dexter are GREAT! I have a few questions for you, I have 3 kids, do you think English bull terriers are good family dogs? do they make good watch dogs? are they good with kids? I know my APBT is a great family dog and watch dog....Thanks

Hi, we have just got an English Bull Terrier. He is know 14 weeks old and is an amazing dog to have. We have a six year old child and always have her friends here and he is absolutely fantastic with them all he does is licks them to death. We are sure he will make a great guard dog as he is very vocal alrady. As far as training goes he is doing very well, he is sitting, staying and gives paws but is very stubborn when he wants to be. I would highly recommend an EBT. Here is our baby Ziggy.

I love bull terriers...probably because growing up my friend had one that was so laid back, that we could dress it up in anything we wanted! I don't have much experience with the breed other than that, but I think with all bull breeds, they are good with kids, but can get rough and knock them down. As always just watch your kids witht he dogs and you should be fine.

Dexter loves kids, he's a bit rough, so he tends to knock them down  . I think an EBT would make a great family dog, Dexter's foster home had children in it (I can refer you! )
Dex is just starting to bark when there is a knock at the door, we have had him a year and 4 months.

Hey there, I own a pure breed English Bull Terrier thats 8, Taurus, and a bull terrier cross Pitt, 2 Atlas.
They are fantastic dogs Tuarus hes the most quirky fun loving attitude and at 8 years old he may not be the most
gorgeous boy anymore but he's still running about and doing his bully circles everywhere! haha
They are very very stubborn and only care about what they are going to get out of it, as most bully owners will say.
But most of them that i have known are food orientated. :D
they are both white (and dirty most of the time the little buggers hahaha) and need Zinc everyday even if it's overcast.
They are full of love and get along with other dogs really well if socialised alot. They are very gun-hoe and very high energy, i walk my boys twice a day, but they both have there days where you just want to sleep and laze in the sun.
They always want to be the centre of attention and if your on the couch expect them to try to be on your lap all the time hahaha. they're really goofy to. Atlas thinks he's a human to the point that he tries to sit at the table with us and every now and then interrupts us with a bark. They are fantasic with kids my boys get sooo excited to see kids, but they are a little boisterous (sp).
But i wouldn't have any other breed. Bully are the best.
If you want to know anything else just let me know.
welcome to the forum!! :hello2:

Good reply, Stax!!!

I have 4 dogs! We have a Dalmation, he's deaf, and an idiot. There's Purple a bully mix, Hopscotch, an APBT, and Dex! Everyone gets along great, and everyone avoids Dex when he starts his hucklebutting..... :D
Thanks, wow what a great mix of dogs!! yeah the hucklebutting is hilarious, we sit on the table outside when taurus does it, gotta watch out for my shins!! hahaha
it's amasing how they get along isn't it, Atlas's other mates he grew up with are a English Staffy (built like a little brick s**thouse haha) and a rotty X bull mastiff, i love how they interact and teach each other things....... Atlas has just shown Taurus how to tease with a stick or a ball... hahahaha it's so funny to watch them walk past each other than at the last moment pull the stick away and run off just to come back and do it again! haha
