Atticus is a mama's boy, through and through. I take him with me to all my softball games and keep him in the dug out with us. Just for the past month or so he's beginning to freak out when I go onto the field or go up to bat. Starts whining and/or barking. Now, I tell him no....I don't go pet him or anything (b/c that would be rewarding him for that behavior, right?), I just say no. If and when he shuts up I tell him good boy, but then he's back at it again.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

It's kind of cute, when I get a hit and run down the line, he tries running with me.

I did the same thing with my dog during my baseball games. (keep him in the dugout)

He reacted the same way at first. Once he got used to the fact that I would always come back, he was fine.

Good luck!

Eeeps! He's been coming to my games ever since he's been done with his "Parvo" phase. So he knows I'll come back.

I've brought him all kinds of toys. Nothing. Doesn't want them. Doesn't want to be pet by others. Just fixates his eyes/attention on me.

Gazar, I WILL try something uber yummy, see if he goes for it (I just hate having it in the dirt).

Thanks, guys. Oh well, I guess there are worse things in life than being loved. It's very cute, when I come back into the dug out he has to give me my "hug" (paws on shoulders, head on resting on my neck).

I'll keep trying, though, don't want his barking/whining to bug anyone.
