Does chewing usually start right before they puppy loses it's teeth because Zipp won't chew on his bones but will chew on blankets in his crate. Is it just that he isn't old enough to chew things that hard yet or does it vary with the breed? He is an OEB. Thanks

If he is doing any teething, sometimes hard bones cause them some pain to chew.
They usually like to chew on spongey type stuff, like shoes, socks, belts, etc. These have some give to them and helps to ease the pain. That being said, I know you do not want him to chew up your stuff, so get him some chewy bones, some rubber chew toys, ice cubes. They really prefer to gnaw on things rather than chew, anyway. Things that are not too hard for the gums and loose teeth.
