Chicken and Oatmeal?

I recently switched Chopper from Nutro Natural Lamb and Rice to Nutro Natural Chicken and Oatmeal for sensitive stomachs. We switched shortly after he had the hair falling out episone because his stools were really loose. It has helped a bit, but not totally. What else would be gentler for him? And would it be good for the other dogs who have no problems on either of the foods. I wanted to try DVP but our Petco stopped carrying it. I think I can get it at a local feed store if you think that would be better for him and his belly.

All I can tell you is that my Mags had trouble with several foods before I found one that didn't upset her tummy - she eats DVP Duck and Potatoe now and she does awesome on it - her coat is SUPER shiny and nice and she just looks and acts much healthier since the switch.
Maybe I will try that one. There are so many. I will be through 10 kinds before I ever find the right one. Atleast Deuce gets a variety, j/k.

Variety is a good thing! I'm rotating Bella and Remy through the different varieties of Timberwolf. They're on lamb and venison right now.
It's weird because he has been great on it all along and then all of a sudden...not so great. I'm pretty sure it's the food, because like I said, after we switched to the Chicken & Oatmeal he's doing better, but not great. I think I will try the DVP Duck and Potato, it seems to me alot of people on here use that. Thanks for the input.
I use Nutro as well! He started it last week and the bag is almost done lol. With the IAMS I would feed him before I left for work at 8:15am and when I got home around 5:45pm he would still have some left. SO he was barley eating twice a day. Now when I get home its all gone lol even the lil bit I drop on the floor. I even have gave him a lil more than normal because Im away so long. I love Nutro and i hope we will stick with it. His stools also look and smell alot beter since the switch
I just read a bunch of reviews on foods at rateit.com I believe you have to get what your dog does well on
Wellness is supose to be one of the top foods that is what I feed mine But after reading its reviews It scared me to death the reviews where really bad on the food , So now I don't know what to think about these foods. mine do well on it.
The only one I saw excellant reviews on was natures Varity I've never seen this one around anywhere. And even that one had vitimin K in it which they claim they are removing from their foods.

Wellness has garlic and green tea in it , These two ingrediants are the only two i question being green tea has caffene in it and garlic thins the blood . So are these really good for your dog?

What to do what to do. ???
I know of people who give their dogs garlic pills. It is supposed to help with fleas.
Garlic is ok in small amounts I know this , But it does thin the blood and How much is in the foods you feed them every day that is my concern

Has anyone here tried Ultra Dog food By Nutro The holistic one ? The indrediance are very much like wellness but it comes in bigger bags and is the same price as wellness , I like the idea of the bigger bags especailly with 4 dogs , But not familer with the product so don't know how good they are. Anyone?

Oh, yeah. I saw that, but didn't try it. It was $12 more per 40 lb bag than the regular stuff. Worth it if it's good though!

Iuse wellness and it is 37.00 to 40.00 depending where I get it for a 30 lbs bag. But it is real good stuff so I want to stay with something as good I just wish they made a bigger bag like 40 lbs. I usually buy two at a time.
I asked around for you. there is a food put out by wellness called Simple food solutions
It is made especailly for dogs with allergies and problems suppose to be real good
for dogs lossing their hair from diets etc. Chicken can be hard on a bullies system from what I was told.
It come in Venison or duck formulas. and no bad stuff in it. this might help with the problem.
If he has loose stools a tablespoon of canned pumpkin will take care of that NOT the pie filling the 100% pumpkin
they like it and its good for them too. You can add it to any food they are eating

Thanks for the info! I will definitely look into it. :D
I give my boys Canidae (good for all stages from puppy to adult) http://www.canidae.com/ they are doing super on it....and it is all natural grade A ingredients, holistic, hypoallergenic, human grade. Their coats say it all

please check out their pics: http://www.pbase.com/jtiburcio/inbox&page=all

Consider giving it a try and see if that would help your baby...it is not easily found in stores, so i have to order from petfooddirect.com (always on sale)
I've been using Canidae for about a week and a half now. I got the Life Stages formula. So far so good. :D
we used to use Canidae until we moved and now I can't find it around here... so now my pups are on DVP venison and brown rice.... has anyone used this flavor of DVP before??? I used to use the regular DVP blue bag but they started to leave it like they did not want it any more so I went to the venison one, and the duck and potato they won't touch.... go figure damn picky dogs sometimes they are just as bad as my 11 year old son who hates veggies of any sort...LOL!!!
