I caught a couple episodes of the Dog Whisperer and noticed that Cesar Millan would use choke chains as a training tool. Can these be used safely on puppies? Loki is about 14 weeks old.

At 14 weeks old, a puppy shouldn't need a choke collar (or any type of training collar.) You should be focusing on positive reinforcement right now rather than leash jerks.

I had said this in another similar thread but in case you didn't read it:

I believe choke and pinch collars should not be used until the dog has had full OB classes. Some dogs just pull even with extensive training and I believe that is when they should be used. But your pup is very young and should get some basic OB before replying on a collar to make them walk correctly.

our vet said it shouldnt be used until your puppy is 6 mo
