Firstly, after cleaning Orson's paws, i noticed that
he has a slice in one and the rest look like they could start to crack.
My guess is the slice (very short) is a paw crack.

Our backyard is all concrete, so i am sure that its hard on his paws...
esp. when we play fetch/chase and he runs on it or when he comes
to an abrupt halt on that concrete.

Any tips on helping his paws not crack open? He isnt limping.

Also, if i put dog boots on him when we play on concrete...will
that impare his running? Can dogs manage to run in those things?

Thank you in advance!!

There are some products that moisturize and toughen pads up. With his new treadmill, and having concrete to run on, he could probably use a pedicure =)

There is a product called Tough Pad, but if I remember correctly, that is purple, and stains... but... Im sure there are similar products. Untill you get the product you like.. try the "Bag Balm" You can get it at the Petsmarts that carry equine products.

Got some stuff your supposed to put on their paws when walking outdoors...says it's good for the hot ground and for snow walks.
I'll look into bag balm.

What about dog boots for winter...can dogs run in them??
