I think it is what scarlet has. She always has these bumps on her chin. I thought at first they might have been ant bites but there is no way she is in an ant pile every day! Its just on her chin...she scratches them open a lot playing with Clutch...but they don't bother her...The wierd thing is I have been noticing it on CLutch latley...the same exact thing on him. Just on the chin nowhere else....anyone else experience this????

Do you use plastic food and water dishes? I think I remember reading somewhere that some dogs get what you described on their chins from a reaction to the plastic dishes. Something like a chemical reaction with the plastic and whatever you use to clean the bowls with, cuz the plastic absorbs some of the chemicals or whatever and over time they can get this irritation on their chins.

I will see if I can find the artical.

Tia has acne too! She gets large lumps that look really sore and sometimes they burst open (Yuk, sorry about that!) The vet has given her antibiotics for them once which did improve them but as soon as she finished the course the lumps came back. They don't seem to bother her but I can't help feeling sorry for her :(

You could try wiping her chin down after she eats and drinks. I know, not always possible, but it might help. I can see how water or food dust clinging to the chin could cause irritation - it would bother the Heck out of me! Also, be sure to rinse her bowls very well after washing them. Even stainless can hold bacteria if they are not washed and rinsed extreamly well. If possible, try to wash them at the very least everyother day.
