I managed to take this picture this morning right before Fern took a lunge at Eddie. Fern is the last surviving whippet from my hare coarsing days. She's 14, diabetic, has cataracts (sp?) and is grumpy as hell. She's still the Queen of the house though and takes every opportunity to point this out to Eddie, which is why we rarely have Eddie indoors unless there is someone there watching the two of them. All Eddie wants to do is play, but she's far to old for that carry on and spends most of her day sleeping, walking into things and sleeping again.

12 - 15 years is the life expectancy of a whippet, but I can see this old girl living until she's 20 just to spite Eddie and make sure he doesn't inherit any of her stuff.

I have an old grumpy girl, too. Makes things complicated, but I love her to death anyway. Good looking dogs.
