i think its got a lot to do with the age stella had long hair at a your age too ?heres a pic t a verry young age

Is this something that pups have when they are small and then grow out of? I've never seen an AB with long hair. The brindle pup especially looks less AB. It has a very round face and longish looking muzzle. But I'm by far no expert.

Im not sure, the thread over there shows a dog "supposedly" a long hair AB, looks more like a saint bernard/Ab mix. Most agree on the possibility of long hair though. Ive personally never seen one, and only that one pic over there.

As for long haired dogs, most I have seen or heard of have Red Machine as the common denominator in the peds, and rumor has it JDJ used a St. Bernard in place of Red Machine in later breedings. I have also heard Red Machine himself was part St. Bernard, but not sure that is true, because some families down from him don't seem to throw long hair. JDJ's reason he couldn't have used St. Bernard was because there were none in his area at the time, yet there were (the place was crawling with St. Bernards), and one person on the JDJ board said maybe JDJ just didn't know what a St. Bernard was. Also, there is a tape floating around with a St. Bernard on JDJ's yard. I think that was early 80s. If anyone has that tape, I would love a copy.

I have seen them with that much brindle, I have one he was the only one in the litter...Those pups are not purebreeds though they have to long of hair.

NO I HAVE NEVER SEEN AN AMERICAN BULLDOG WITH MARKINGS LIKE THAT!!!! THE FUR LOOKS LONG TO ME!!!!
