Need a little help here dog is now 9 month and soon to be 10 months is ok to start feeding her once a day. But wont she lose wieght, cause she aint fat. She eats about 2lbs a day. i buy cuttings from the local butcher, which is basically all the trimmings from the saws. Its like grounded meat and i cook it up for her.

I myself feed my dog 1/2 can of canned dog food w/ her herbal meds in it. ( http://www.jeffwerberproducts.com/ ) You wouldn't believe the difference the the calming formula makes with her. And then twice per day I feed her 2 cups of Diamond Puppy Lamb & Rice Large Breed. And a treat here and there throughout the day.

the Trimmings is all meat chicken,pork beef, its pure meat. She loves it, and will eat it instead of the pedegree or any other processed foods.
Once a day? Wow. Heaven and Koa act like they're starving to death if I only feed them once per day. Here I was feeling guilty, now I see they're just playing on my naivete. (sp)
I feed odin 2 times a day, Am and PM. Depending on how active we are, maybe 3 times a day....but if it's 3...its not much more.
Haus gets fed 3 cups a day, 1 1/2 cup in the am and 1 1/2 cup in the pm. If we use his kongs to feed him in the am, then he gets feed 1 cupl 3 times a day, am, noon and pm.

OK, now I don't feel so bad. They get fed twice a day now.. before I go to work, and when I get home -- so 12 hours apart. I keep trying to sneak more food to Heaven because she's so much skinnier than Koa, but she must not be destined to gain weight because she maintains her girlish figure no matter what she eats.. and Koa -- well he's just a cow.

Wow... my Nutro Puppy Max, for Boomers age and weight says to feed him 3 1/4 - 4 1/2 cups, twice per day. I usually give him in the early 7-8AM, when im getting ready, I put his food and and let him go pee and stuff. Then we feed him again around 5 or so.

Feeding once a day will raise the chances of your love developing bloat! I suggest feeding twice a day. Maybe halfing your one feeding into two. Trust me you don't want to go for a ride on the BLOAT BOAT!!!
Freedom & Liberty eat at least 2 x's daily.Freedom eats the most. He gets 4 cups per day not including the treats & training goodies, Liberty eats maybe 3 cups daily also not including treats & traing goodies. Although Liberty is in a growing spree & lately she always wants to eat.
Twice a day for Mo, for that reason. Plus he doesn't get water until about an hour or so after eating. bella is fed twice a day, about 8.30am and then about 3pm. we have been thinking about feeding three times but recently have upgraded her food. It would be too expensive to feed her more and the food is already gone in seconds so feeding her the same amount over three feeds would leave her begging in between times. she is probably fed plenty anyhow.
We feed Josie 2 cups twice a day and misc. treats. Somedays she gets feed 3 times. Just depends on her activity level. We have a hell of a time keeping her ribs from showing. Makes her Momma (My Wife) feel like were starving her. :roll:
Moose gets fed 2x a day. Morning 2 cups and then evening 2 cups. He looks really good and ifI fed more he won't eat and if I fed him only once a day he wouldn't finish. This is the way I have been doing it since he was 5 weeks and now he is 9 months.

Did anyone hear the news on the recall of diamond brand food? Many dogs sick and others died do to a fungus in the food they are rembuseing everyone for there vet bills and losses the report came on the news from Angell memorial hospital in boston (ASPCA)
They were on TV along with The spokes man for Diamond .

Yes, this has been posted here many times. Only the Diamond brands containing corn are affected. Haus eats Lamb and Rice.
