Stick with a company that hasn't had a recall in over a decade.... In my mind, that's one way to decipher quality versus a company that doesn't really back up its science: Hills and Royal Canin both make a good food. Look for the newer Grain Free options. They have improved the formulas over the years.
I would specifically recommend the new Ideal Balance Grain Free. Looks excellent.

Another Natura recall....doesn't surprise me. We seized the opportunity to stop carrying their food at the grooming salon where I work after their last major recall cleaned our shelves. We really wanted to stop once Procter & Gamble bought them out.
