I don't have an EB - dogs in general are pretty much the same as far as diet goes. Personally I would get him off Royal Canin. It's not agreeing with him because his poop isn't consistent. You could try something grain free...

Why are you staying away from raw?

I would only feed grain free food before I went to raw. Some grain free foods are Taste of the Wild, EVO, Orijen, Acana, Merrick, Natural Balance, Nature's Variety Instinct, and there are others.

It is but it has higher calories which helps aid in not having to feed quite as much so it tends to work out as far as how much you spend. And you also have to consider the quality of the foods.

Tina - TOTW is not limited ingredient. It has too many ingredients to be limited. If you actually look at a limited ingredient food and compare it to TOTW you will see that TOTW has a lot more in it.

Paul can you post the info you have on protein myths? It's not the amount of protein that you should really be concerned about. It's the calcium/phosphorous ratio that you should be looking at. And TOTW doesn't have any foods in the 40% area, I think the highest is 32%. It's also an ALL life stages food.
