Hey there..my pup seems to have the same. Just wondering if ur pup still has it. My pups skin started like that and ive taken him to the vets. They did a skin scrape test nothing came up and gave us dermititis shampoo. No luck there. It now looks like this. Ive tried bathing him in calendula tea...and rubbing coconut oil in his skin. It worked abit went but comes back. Now I have tried putting him on a raw food diet over the past week his fur has gone thicker so fingers cross it will go away. Anyone have any advice they would like to share? Thanks :)

It started of looking like the pic addie posted up then it started getting red bumps. So his coat doesnt look smooth he does have alot of the skin pigments though showing through his fur. Ive changed his diet to raw and so far the fur has gone alot thicker though. is it normal to have that many spots showing through his fur though?

It could be food allergies. What were you feeding him before? Also dogs with white coats and less pigmented skin are more prone to skin issues. Ask the vet if it's ok to put sun screen on him when out in the sun. Though you've switched to a raw diet, you still need to pinpoint whether or not he has food allergies and what food(s) he's allergic to so that you don't give it to him in his raw diet. In most cases it's the grains or protein (chicken, duck, etc.) that cause an allergic reaction.

In my opinion the spots showing through his fur look normal, I've seen that a lot with dogs similar to his color, however his skin does look a bit red and irritated. You really need to have a vet test him for allergies.

Thank you for ur response. He was on science diet since ive had him. A few times a week I would boil up chicken use the broth and chicken and rice to mix through the biscuits. He doesnt seem to itch or scratch or seem irritated by his skin. His fur has gone thicker since being on the raw food diet. The vet did check on him and did a skin scrape test but couldnt find anything and ruled it off as dermititis but told us to go back if it got worse. But the shampoo she recommended didnt help. So far the coconut oil has worked a little. If things get worse I will see the vet over the next couple of days. Thanks for ur response and help :)
