Been fighting grass allergies with Harley over the past two years. Vet wants us to try a allergy spray. Anybody hear about this before.

No, I haven't but am sure others have. I can tell you that I had a dog
that had grass allergies and the only thing we could do was to keep her off
the grass. We would allow her 5 minutes to go potty and that was that.
We did not allow her to lay down in it as we knew she would develop a rash.

Cocoa just got diagnosed with this ? Sent her in to have her ears checked and they were a little inflamed but fine. Then the vet said her paws were red and raw and said she has allergies. Does this mean we can't walk her on grass She can't run in the field. That would suck

the only way to find out what type of allergies a dog has is to have a blood test done and the blood sent out to either HESKA or ELISA for results. do not believe the vet if they havnt run blood tests.. i dealt with a dog with allergies and we had the blood test done. AFTER the blood test results come back THEN you treat the allergies accordingly as there are different treatments....

We had the blood test done and turned out to be rag weed allergy. I agree with ME, a blood test if done right will get you the right culprit and treatment.

Mera took a major roll in burning weed! Both eyes were almost swollen shut, just slits!

Sounds like that could be a big part of jakes troubles! I change his food to atinky fishy grain free and shut the gate to the grass..he was doin great. Mowed the lawn yesterday watched him roll around in it..today tje hot spots back amd scratchin his face like crazy!

Yes, I did the blood test for Omi and she is basically allergic to both common grasses in our area as well as trees. Dust too!!
Benedryl doesnt work other than knocking her out. But I was given a shampoo from the vet (forget what kind, I'm at work) and was told to bathe her at least once a week and was also given a leave in conditioner that contains a bit of cortisone cream. Can I tell you - its AWESOME. As long as I keep up on the baths - she is just fine.

It also helps to wipe them down after each walk. I keep baby wipes by my door during Omi Allergy Season LOL

And remember wipe down with cool water as cool water keeps pores closed . Warm water opens pores andlets allergens in the body
