It looks like demodex to me. You need to get that poor dog to a vet & FAST. :!:

Have you taken this dog tot he vet for treatment? I certainly hope so,put yourself in that poor dogs body :?

CC's was not nearly as bad. you better get to the vets or it could kill him.
Have you tried the mitoban dip? I have a friend who used it and it worked wonders.
Just a tip. It might be easier on you to have only one thread on this. Just keep adding to it. Then people will read the whole story. It can get confusing for people with info in a few different threads. Also, the more info you give on his condition, the more people can help. I don't think anybody was trying to be unkind, but from the first post in this thread, it didn't sound like your dog was to the vet yet. Just a misunderstanding. We are all dog lovers here and feel incredibly horrile for your poor pup.

It explains a bit about mange in general. It also says that mitaban dips are the only product approved for use on demodex mange in the United States, so I would imagine that means there are more options in the UK. It also says for severe cases you can give oral ivermectin.
Does your vet not have any other advice for you? I would maybe consider finding a specialist. Believe me. Even though dermatologists can be hard to find (or a long drive and very costly), they can sometimes save you $$$ in the long run. They generally tend to know more about these type of problems and what the best treatment is, therefore it could save you many unnecessary trips to the vet, with treatments that might not be the most effective.

Some of the vets in the Uk have been using something called Advocate, it treats a number of things. :wink:

hi there sorry about the pictures if they offended you but alot of people on here talk about demedox and mange and i wanted to show you bryn for ages but only learnt how to get pictures off my phone yesterday this is what they gave me at the vets advecate put that on him every two weeks that suppose to kill the mite but it never worked the last time i took him to the vets they said he was cured it was just a matter of time before his fur grows back its coming back slowly, i will update the pictures for you all to see soon, to show you :lol: but that was the worse picture i took a few months ago to show just how bad demedox mange could get shirley

yes his fur is growing back now that was a early picture to show people how bad it got with treatment from the vet the advecate done that :? but the vet said to keep using it and as you do :roll: well will post some more pictures in a few weeks to show you how better he is and how you can come through the mange :lol:
