He'd Rather Be Outside

I have started letting Rex be outside in my yard alone for the past week or so because he want to be out there all the time and I am just to busy to stay with him. My kids have a bike tire tied to a rope that he loves to play with. I leave him out for about an hour checking on him all the time of course but when I bring him in he barks and barks until I let him back out. He will only stay in if he is tired or hungry without barking. I will not make him an outside dog but dh think I should. I DOnt believe in leaving a dog outside 24/7. He is only 4 month old so what a decent amount of time to leave him out? I have a 30 feet chain for him o he cant dig his way out the yard and still have freedom.

As long as he enjoys being out there and there's nothing for him to get hurt on or eat that he shouldn't he should be just fine. Alot of people keep their dogs outside. Like others said in another thread, you just have to make sure no one's gonna steal him! Don't leave him out when you're not home to watch him.

I agree, I used to let my girl out (only when I was home) and I made sure she had shelter from the sun and water
at all times. Maybe you can install a doggie door so he could come back in (chain and all LOL) and still make sure
you have some sort of fence to protect him from outsiders.

I would also start training him to not eat things thrown over the fence, my friend Jason Mann has a great method for
that www.PitBullLovers.com. People are sick freaks and it can save your dog's life.

I just saw in the news a dog was out on a walk and he quickly ate a chunk of meat someone put nails and poison in.
:x
He's OK though, just needed surgery and hospital stay in the ER.
Thanks everyone! I still will only keep him out for an hour at a time lol. Thank God I have GREAT neighbors I live next door to a sheriff and a paramedic is right across the street lol. So its not to many people that will have access to him. IN the back of my house is lots of trees and my land soo I dont have to worry about the public :) IN order to get in my back yard its two entrances and they are both in the front of my house and I can see them if someone walk in my driveway to try to enter the yard.
hey I have a cop next door and a paramedic living across the street too!
Are we neighbors?
:D

LOL wow how funny is that lol
That reminds me of this time I was talking to this lady and she started describing something that
happened in her neighborhood. And I was like wow, that happened to me too! So she went through the
entire story (about 20 minutes of chat time) before we finally realized that we lived two houses away from each other!

LMAO!
